Žan Vipotnik | I live for scoring goals, I want to keep it going
Žan Vipotnik hopes his opening Swansea City goal proves to be the first of many after getting off the mark in the 3-0 win over Preston North End.
Matt Grimes broke the deadlock from the penalty spot shortly before the interval, and Azeem Abdulai doubled the advantage when Ollie Cooper’s shot struck the midfielder to wrongfoot Freddie Woodman in the Preston goal.
Vipotnik then rounded things off as he finished from close range for his first Swansea goal, after Ronald had burst into the box to pick out a cross following two superb passes from Jay Fulton.
The Slovenian was happy to open his goalscoring account in just his third appearance, and is desperate to back it up with more goals.
"I'm so happy. First of all that we won, and second I contributed to the team with my goal," said Vipotnik.
"We are so happy, because we won our first league game at home and in front of the fans, and I hope we can continue this form into next week.
"I will get a lot of confidence from this game, from my first goal. For me, as a striker, scoring always gives you motivation.
"I'm living for scoring goals, and that's what I'm here, I want to keep going."
And the 22-year-old is relishing life in Swansea following his arrival nearly three weeks ago.
"I'm loving it. I'm here to play football, but I think the city is great, and the people are amazing," he added.
"It's the perfect club, the style of play is what I like."
