Zac Jeanes | It's a "dream come true" to sign for Swansea City
Swansea City Under-21s new arrival Zac Jeanes says it is a "dream come true" after signing for the club following a successful trial.
Jeanes put pen to paper on a two-year deal with an option of an additional 12 months, initially committing him to the Swans until June 2026.
And the 18-year-old, who had never previously been in the academy system, is relishing the opportunity to make the transition into professional football.
"I'm buzzing to be here, it's a dream come true for any lad who plays football," said Jeanes.
"Swansea is a massive club, and I can't wait to get going.
"I've sort of played non-league my whole life, I've never been in the academy system. So there will be a lot of things I will need to adapt to during my time here.
"Being here, as a full-time professional, is something I never expected but also something I've always dreamed of."
Jeanes joined National League South side Worthing FC in July 2023, after a previous stint at local club, Horsham YMCA.
The defender was a regular for the National League South outfit’s under-18 side, and featured on the bench for the first team on numerous occasions.
The youngster, who hails from Sussex, undertook a two-week trial with the Swans in July. He started in three friendlies for the development side against Trefelin BGC, Briton Ferry Llansawel and Barry Town.
Jeanes scored and claimed an assist in his first game as a trialist.
"I don't think my trial could have gone any better. I'm thankful the coaches and recruitment saw something in me, especially as I've come from non-league football," he added.
"There's always areas where I can improve, and now I've got the right resources and staff around me to do that.
"I want to be involved as much as I can this season, grasp every opportunity and hopefully, make my way up."
