Yzzy Taylor | We’ve demonstrated a better side of ourselves in phase two

Caretaker head coach Yzzy Taylor hopes that Swansea City Women can keep their momentum going into next season after finishing the 2024-25 campaign with five consecutive wins.

The Swans finished phase two of the Genero Adran Premier unbeaten, and rounded things off with a comfortable 4-1 win over Aberystwyth Town Women.

Emily Richards opened the scoring early for the Swans, before Aberystwyth found an equaliser four minutes later through Carys Bufton.

Taite Trivett restored Swansea's lead before the break, dispossessing the goalkeeper before calmly finishing.

Jess Williams and Stacey John-Davis would then find the net late on to seal three points and keep Taylor’s 100 per cent record in charge of the Swans.

Taylor was delighted with her side's display and hopes they have laid foundations for a better 2025-26 season.

“To come away with a 4-1 win is a great result,” said the caretaker head coach.

“I think it was definitely an end of season performance, but it was important to give as many people minutes as we could.

“We knew what we were capable of, a few results didn’t go our way at the start of the season and then we had a really tough time post-Christmas.

“But I spoke to the group about how important it was that they showed their resilience and came back from that tough time, and phase two has been great.

“We’ve demonstrated a better side of ourselves and hopefully we can take that into next season.

“We’ve spoken about how strong this squad is and I struggle every single week to pick 11 players to start the game.

“I could pick from one to 16 and I trust that all of them would do a job and I think they have demonstrated that over the last few games.”
