Assistant manager Yzzy Taylor praised Swansea City Women’s dominance and persistence as four second-half goals secured three points away at Aberyswyth Town Women.

The Swans came close to breaking the deadlock on a number of occasions in the first half, with Emily Richards and Nia Jones firing just wide of the post.

But the Swans got their rewards in the second half.

Emily Thomas’ effort from wide flew into the back of the net for the opener, before Chloe Chivers doubled the lead from distance.

Aimee Deacon’s 10th goal of the season and Taite Trivett’s smart finish rounded off the scoring.

Taylor was delighted to see her side’s tenacity rewarded, and the depth and competition for places in the squad.

“It was a great performance, I think we really dominated the game,” said Taylor.

“We were able to score some really nice goals and keep a clean sheet. In terms of what you look for in a performance, we really hit what we expect.

“From the early days we talked about looking to develop the squad and the depth that we have and make it as competitive as it can be, and I think we are there.

“We had Stacey John-Davis on the bench, Aimee Deacon, Taite Trivett, Chloe Chivers, all coming off the bench in a game like this. It is a huge asset to the club.

“I think we created a lot of opportunities in the first half, a couple just went the wrong side of the post but we knew we were getting people into the right places.

“We knew we had to be persistent and just that bit more clinical in the second half and that’s what got us our rewards.

“I think the squad is in a good place, it was tough for us before Christmas but it’s two wins in 2025, we’re in a final so all of that is great.

“This next two-week period is going to be tough, there is a lot of football to play but everyone is in a really good place right now.”

The fixture saw first starts handed to January acquisitions Lauren Davies and Caitlin Williams, who occupied the wing-back roles.

Taylor was delighted to see the two fit straight into the Swansea defence, and feels they have already shown the quality they will bring to the squad.

“I think they both did really well coming into the defence,” said Taylor.

“They are two very different types of player, but they were both physical, technical, they did exactly what we needed them to do.

“I think from these early stages you can already see that they will be great additions to the squad.”
