Yzzy Taylor | That was a good team performance

Yzzy Taylor v Cardiff Met

Caretaker head coach Yzzy Taylor was impressed by Swansea City Women’s performance after goals from Stacey John-Davis and Chloe Chivers sealed a 2-0 win over Cardiff Met Women.

John-Davis opened the scoring in the 73rd minute to capitalise on the Swans dominance, converting from the spot after Aimee Deacon was brought down in the box.

Chivers then sealed the win in the last minute of the game, an incredible strike from distance finding the top scorer.

Taylor was delighted with her side’s efforts and felt the squad available to her was crucial as the Swans look to respond after a difficult period.

“I’m really impressed with the performance today,” said Taylor.

“I think we really demonstrated what we want to bring for the last three games of the season.

“A clean sheet was something that was needed and I think Charlie [Haynes] made two excellent saves and she was really important for us.

“But also it was two really good goals from us and some really good passages of play.

“It’s a great technique from Chloe [Chivers], she’s hit it really well, we know exactly what she is capable of and it was great to see her get that goal.

“We spoke to the girls before the game about how we want to be consistent, so we started with the same 11 but said how important the substitutes were last time out, and we knew it would be that way again.

“We’ve demonstrated again just how important the squad is, everyone got some decent minutes and it’s another good team performance.

“It takes us nicely into the next game against Barry, we’ve drawn with them three times this season so it will be an interesting test.

“It’s always a difficult place to go, but we would hope to take this momentum into the next game.”
