Yzzy Taylor | That was a good challenge for us
Swansea City Women’s assistant manager Yzzy Taylor thought there were positives to take from her side’s latest pre-season test against Gwalia United.
The game was the Swans third pre-season test as they build towards the Genero Adran Premier season, and it proved to be a tough assignment against the tier three side from the English system as they earned a 5-0 win.
But Taylor felt that there was plenty to take from the Swansea performance.
“If you take the result out of it, there are definitely positives to take,” said Taylor.
“We had a bit of a week off, so it was a tough game to come back to having not seen each other for a little while, however I think there were a lot of positives in the game, particularly in the first half.
“We’re still missing a couple of players, but everyone got good minutes, we are seeing individual levels and the things we are doing well, and the things we need to improve on.”
“We’ve challenged the players a lot to try and do different things, especially things they aren’t used to following the last couple of seasons, and they are adapting to that.
“They are a new team with a lot of talent, some Welsh internationals and ex-Welsh internationals, so it was a good, tough challenge for us and one that we stood up to really well.
“There were goals that on another day we probably don’t concede, but I’m really proud of some of the things we pulled off.”
