Young talents join Swansea City academy
Swansea City has signed Corey Hurford and Joe Thomas to join the club’s academy following successful trial spells.
Hurford, 17, has penned a deal through to the end of June 2023, with the option for a further year, following time at Chippenham Town and Briton Ferry.
The wing-back joined Briton Ferry at the beginning of the season from Chippenham, seeing himself converted from an attacking midfield role.
Hurford will be available for both Kristian O’Leary’s under-23s’ side and Darren Davies’ under-18s’ squad as they head into the second half of their seasons.
Thomas, 19, joins the Swans from Cambrian & Clydach, also on a deal until the summer of 2023 with the option for a 12-month extension.
Thomas, also a wing-back, joined Cambrian & Clydach at under-12 level, working his way through to the senior team and playing in the Cymru South division.
Thomas will be available to O’Leary’s under-23s for their first game of 2022 as they travel to face Watford in the Professional Development League on Tuesday.
