Young Swans impress in international tournaments
Swansea City's Under-10 and Under-12 sides recently competed in international tournaments in the Netherlands and Liverpool respectively.
The under-10s took part in Robin Van Persie's annual tournament in the Netherlands, facing teams such as Rangers, Lyon and FC Copenhagen.
The under-12s, meanwhile, took part in the Optima Sport International Tournament at Liverpool's Academy base.
The Swansea youngsters came away as Shield winners from the day, having faced teams including the Reds, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.
“These high-level tournaments provide the opportunity for our young players to be tested against some of the best academies from across Europe," said Swansea City academy manager, Gavin Levey.
“It’s vital the academy players get exposed to playing at a high level, and in a more competitive environment to provide a very different learning experience.
“We are incredibly grateful to both Optima Sport and Robin Van Persie for the chance to compete in these tournaments, and we look forward to increasing our exposure to European tournaments as we progress as an academy.”
