'We're gutted for Martin'
Oli McBurnie is backing Martin Olsson to come through the pain of his ruptured Achilles, declaring: “He will be back stronger – I’m sure of that.”
Swansea City have been hit by the news that Olsson will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his Achilles at Brentford last weekend.
Having undergone surgery, the Swedish international left-back faces a long rehabilitation process before he can return to football.
But McBurnie is convinced his team-mate will cope with the trauma that comes with such a significant injury.
“Nobody likes to see a team-mate getting a bad injury and we are all think of Olss,” the Swans’ eight-goal top scorer said.
“He is one of the best guys you will ever meet in football and we are gutted for him.
“It looks like he is going to be out for a long time and we will all support him.
“It’s tough for him now but I know he is very strong mentally.
“He will be a big miss for the team, but he will come back stronger from this. I’m sure of that because of the character he is.”
