Žan Vipotnik is in contention to make his Swansea City debut in Saturday’s Championship opener at Middlesbrough, while Ronald is also in with a chance of being involved on Teesside.

Striker Vipotnik linked up with his new teammates earlier this week and is in line to be part of head coach Luke Williams’ squad ahead of the trip to take on Boro.

Winger Ronald, meanwhile, has recovered from a hamstring injury and a late decision will be made on his availability.

Lawrence Vigouroux, Jisung Eom and Gonçalo Franco are also set to make their Swansea debuts following their summer arrivals.

But Andy Fisher, Joe Allen, Josh Ginnelly, Sam Parker and Aimar Govea will miss out for the visitors.

“The squad is looking pretty good,” said Williams.

“The guys who are out are progressing well, Ronald has been taking part in full training and we need to keep an eye on him to make sure how he is reacting to the workload.

“We want to be careful in how we bring him back, he has done everything over the last couple of days and now he will do a bit more work to see how he is reacting.

“Vipi is not quite at the same level as the rest of the group and we have to respect that he will need time to take up to speed, but we really like what we have seen and we are really excited to have him here.

“He will get there and he is in the mix for the weekend.”
