Valuable minutes for Swansea City Under-18s in penultimate pre-season Friendly
Swansea City Under-18s gained more valuable game time ahead of the new season as they faced their Crystal Palace counterparts in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
The match finished 5-1 in favour of the home side, with Rohan Davies scoring the only Swans goal of the afternoon.
It was the Swans' penultimate pre-season fixture before their Professional Development League season kicks off on August 12 against Peterborough United.
The young Swans led for 35 minutes in the first half, after Davies headed home from a Cameron Llewellyn cross in the opening stages.
But, despite some great defensive work from the Swans backline, the Eagles nicked an equaliser with seconds to go to the break.
Following the restart, Palace put numbers forward forcing Swans stopper Ewan Griffiths into making some crucial saves.
The visitors had looked to regain their advantage, with Aimar Govea and Aidan Higgins seeing shots go wide.
However, Palace would finish strongly and net four goals during the final 11 minutes of the contest.
The under-18s travel to Southampton this Saturday for their final pre-season outing of the campaign.
