Under-21s beat Charlton to stay top
27th February
Chris Llewellyn praised the Under-21 squad as they returned to winning ways with victory over Charlton.
A strike from James Loveridge and Kenji Gorre's penalty ensured that the points returned down the M4 and keep the Swans top of Development League Two South.
The development squad suffered their first defeat since September last week against Colchester, but maintained top spot with victory at Sparrows Lane.
And Llewellyn was delighted with the application of the squad following Monday's win.
"We spoke to the boys after the Colchester game, but we didn't want to dwell on it," he said.
"They have been excellent this season and we wanted to remind them of that. In football there is always the next game.
"But the players did everything we asked of them and it was an all round good performance.
"When you lose the last thing you want is a break, so it was nice to play three days later.
"Charlton put a strong side out but the boys responded well tactically to what we asked them do and we were worthy winners."
The Under-21s are next in action on Monday, March 9 when they host Bristol City at Landore (6.30pm).
