Trunds returns to the Vetch
12th August
As their fourth season in top flight football begins, The Swans haven't forgotten their former home at the Vetch Field.
On Saturday August 9, former striker Lee Trundle stepped out onto the Vetch Field exactly 11 years after his debut for the club.
But instead of terraces, this time he was surrounded by marquees, wild flowers and allotments at Sandfield's Community Fete - held on the site of the former football ground.
From that first game, when he scored against Bury in League Two, Lee was a firm favourite at the Vetch Field, and last weekend he showed he had lost neither the skills, nor the charm!
"It was great to go back on the anniversary of my debut," he said. "I love my new role as Club Ambassador with the Swans because I get to come to lots of events like this, but this is special because of the memories it brings back."
