Thomas Woodward is savouring a special moment after signing his first professional contract at his boyhood club.

The 17-year-old agreed terms through to the summer of 2026, with the deal including an option through to 2027.

Woodward has been with the club since under-nine level, and enjoyed a prolific 2023-24 campaign, scoring 30 goals in all competitions across all age groups.

He has become a regular for the club’s under-21 side this season and the highly-rated teenager will be looking to kick on with his future with the Swans secured.

"It's a very proud moment for me and my family to sign my first professional contract at the club I've been at since I was very small, said Woodward.

"I joined the club when I was eight-years-old, and I've worked my way up ever since. It feels extra special to extend my stay here for longer.

"It's always been the aim and goal to earn a professional contract here, when the football starts getting serious, its something that crosses your mind and you work so hard towards.

"I picked up an injury just before Christmas, and I found out I was being offered a pro deal during my recovery, which helped me loads.

"My long-term goals are clear, keep playing strong for the under-21s, and hopefully, in years to come, make my senior debut.

"This is my boyhood club, so that would be a dream. This contract is another step in that direction."

The youngster enjoyed a prolific 2023-24 campaign, scoring 30 goals in all competitions across all age groups, and earned him his first ever international call-up for his country.

And he went on to score a maiden goal on the international stage in Wales Under-19s' friendly against Azerbaijan in September 2024.

"Last season was great for me, I got to Christmas and I think I had around 12 goals to my name, and I just wanted to score more and more," he added.

"Credit to all of the boys for the goals as well, especially as I play in midfield.

"Then last year, I got my first ever call-up for Wales, and I scored on my full debut in front of my family, that was another incredibly proud moment, and I hope there's more to come."
