Tarrelle Whittaker hungry for more goals after opening season account
Tarrelle Whittaker is hungry for more goals after opening his account for the 2022-23 season in Swansea City Under-21s' victory over Wigan Athletic at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Jon Grey and Anthony Wright’s development side gained their first win of the season with a 3-0 triumph on Bank Holiday Monday, with Whittaker among those to impress in front of a crowd of over 500.
The youngster's desire and energy were rewarded with a crucial goal early in the second half, with the strike coming at the end of a classy Swans passage of play.
“It’s always good to get the first goal of the season, it gives a boost of confidence, and I was just happy that I was able to contribute to the win," said Whittaker.
“The fans were fantastic, every time we had the ball and when we scored, we could hear them cheering and it made us feel good.
“If I can just keep getting goals and playing well, hopefully the manager is watching and I can get my opportunity.
“The boys will tell you I’m a bit greedy, but I like getting myself goals. If I can get myself into a position to score, I'm happy really.”
