Taite Trivett | We had to work together in tough conditions
Forward Taite Trivett highlighted the togetherness of the group as a key reason for Swansea City Women getting to grips with tough conditions to claim a dominant Welsh Cup win over Talycopa AFC Women.
Trivett netted her first goal for the club since joining in the summer after 23 minutes, driving a shot into the top corner from a flick on by Aimee Deacon.
But Trivett wasn’t done there, netting twice more before the break to seal a first half hat-trick.
Deacon and Emily Richards would also score hat-tricks for the Swans, with Danielle Broadhurst and a Kaci Whitcombe own goal rounding off the scoring.
The win sees the Swans set up an away tie at Carmarthen Town Women in the second round.
Trivett was delighted to have a hat-trick, but was keen to focus on the all-round team effort.
“We had to work together,” said Trivett.
“I’m really happy, it was tough conditions but we worked as a team and got the win that we came for.
"We worked around them and had to make sure we kept moving, that’s what we did and that’s what got us the result.
“I think it shows the massive quality that we have throughout the squad, we have a big squad with a lot of depth and everyone did really well.
“I’m really happy to get the hat-trick but, at the end of the day, it’s all about getting the win and getting through to the next round.
“We will look forward to the next round now, hopefully we can get the win again because we are looking to go all the way.”
