Forward Taite Trivett felt Swansea City Women had got their rewards for a team effort after returning to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Cardiff Met.

Trivett had a hand in both Swansea goals, with her cross leading to Met defender Celyn Garton putting through her own net.

The Archers levelled through India Shanahan's volley with just nine minutes remaining, but Trivett was again the provider when she picked out Steph Turner to tap home the winner with just two minutes of the 90 remaining.

Trivett was delighted to help the Swans end a run of six games without a win, but was keen to share the credit.

“It’s a really good win for us and it was a really good team effort,” said Trivett.

“I think it’s a result that everyone really needed, everyone pushed through right until the end and we got what we deserved.

“The togetherness is really important to get us through those tough moments, we all work hard for each other and it was big for us to get the three points.

“We’ve had a tough couple of weeks, but we’ve taken a step in the right direction now and it keeps us going together and moving us forward.

“I’m happy to be able to contribute the way I did, but it’s all about the team effort, we did what we came here to do and that’s what were all happiest about."
