'Tackling Cancer Together' campaign and Chris Brown nominated for EFL awards
Swansea City and Maggie’s ‘Tackling Cancer Together’ campaign has been nominated in the Innovation category at the annual EFL Awards, while Chris Brown – who sadly passed away in February – has been shortlisted for Supporter of the Season.
The awards, which will be presented at a ceremony in London on Sunday, April 14, recognises the best of the Championship, League One and League Two on and off the field.
The ‘Tackling Cancer Together’ campaign – which centred around the club’s vibrant pink third kit – was launched with the aim of encouraging and giving supporters the opportunity to share their cancer stories, raising awareness of the wide-ranging impact of a cancer diagnosis, and supporting Maggie’s Swansea by highlighting their services and raising funds.
It is one of three nominees in the EFL Innovation Award category, alongside Forest Green Rovers and Norwich City.
Lifelong Jack Chris Brown, who followed the Swans home and away, lived with FG syndrome, autism and ADHD, and was a beloved figure at the club and among his fellow supporters, has been chosen as one of the EFL Supporters of the Season.
