Swansea.com Stadium to serve as donation point for 'Food for Thought' campaign from Monday
The Swansea.com Stadium will serve as a donation point from Swansea City's 'Food for Thought' campaign from Monday, November 14 until Friday, November 18.
The initiative, introduced in conjunction with the Swansea City AFC Foundation and The Wave, aims to provide help to those most in need this winter.
Swansea Foodbank relies on the goodwill and support of the community in order to help local people in crisis during these challenging times.
As the winter months approach, foodbanks are expecting to have a depleting level of stock available and we are asking the Jack Army and the wider community to help us by donating items to support Swansea Foodbank during and aid those most in need within our region.
Between the hours of 9am and 5pm between Monday November 14 and Friday November 18, the Swansea.com Stadium will act as a drop-off point, collecting items for the Swansea Foodbank.
A full list of desirable items, which has been provided by the foodbank, is listed below:
- Tinned fish
- Tinned meat
- Soup
- Baked beans

Swansea City chief executive, Julian Winter, said: “As we are all aware, the cost of living of crisis has gripped the UK and we are in a very real situation where thousands of people will be in need this winter.
“As a club, we always endeavour to help the local community and our loyal supporters and we are delighted to be able to team up with the Swansea City AFC Foundation and The Wave for such an important campaign.
“We urge the community to help as much as they can, because in times of need we have to support one another. Swansea Foodbank does so much incredible work and we will support them in every way possible to help those in need.”
Debbie Sharpe, administrator for Swansea Foodbank, said, "We will be so grateful for any support that we can receive during these difficult times that are affecting everyone. We don't think that anyone in our community should have to face going hungry.
"We provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food, and support local people who are facing a crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks that are supported by The Trussell Trust, working together to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
"Sadly any one of us could need to turn to a foodbank at some stage, we are here to help and support everyone in need.”
We thank the Jack Army in advance for their support of this appeal, which will aid so many of those in need this winter.
