Swansea.com Stadium to host Wales’ UEFA Women’s Nations League clash
Swansea City is delighted to confirm Wales’ Uefa Women’s Nations League clash against Germany will be played at the Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday, December 5 2023.
The fixture – which will kick-off at 7.15pm** - will be the final game of the inaugural Women's Nations League competition, with Wales kicking off their campaign next week against Iceland and Denmark.
Gemma Grainger's side narrowly missed out on qualification for a first major tournament last year following an agonising World Cup play-off defeat to Switzerland.
Wales have witnessed record attendances recently, peaking with the FIFA Women’s World Cup play-off semi-final against Bosnia & Herzegovina last October drawing a crowd of 15,200.
Grainger said: “It’s been a few years since we’ve played at the Swansea.com Stadium, but I can’t wait to face Germany there in December in what will be a great test for us.
“The Red Wall means so much for us and I’m positive we will see them come and support us in their numbers in Swansea.”
Swansea City chairman Andy Coleman, added: “As a club we are thrilled to be hosting the Wales Women’s national team here at the Swansea.com Stadium.
“We have been working closely with the Football Association of Wales, and we look forward to this game being an opportunity to inspire our young female supporters and showcase women’s and girls’ football across the region.”
Wales international and Swansea-born Rachel Rowe added: “Being born and bred in Swansea and having played for the club for several years, I can’t wait to play at the Swansea.com Stadium in December.
“The support we’ve had over the last few years has been incredible and I can’t wait to see the Red Wall in my home city against one of the world’s strongest teams.”
Tickets for this fixture will go on sale at 10am on Friday, September 22 via the FAW ticketing website, available at £10 for adults and £5 for children. Red Wall members and group booking (10+ tickets) will also be available at £8 for adults and £3 for children.
Further ticketing information will be confirmed in due course.
**Kick-off subject to approval from UEFA.
