Christmas is a time of heightened emotion for all of us. Alongside the joyous occasion of meeting up with friends and family for festive celebrations, it is also a time to remember those who were sadly taken too soon.
This Christmas, Swansea City has launched a Memory Tree for charity partner Swansea Bay Health Charity Cwtsh Clos appeal in order to remember absent loved ones lost in infancy.
The appeal is aiming to raise funds for the refurbishment of five homes that are used by the families of sick and tiny babies in Singleton Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The houses provide a home away from home for the families of babies being treated in the intensive care unit, allowing them to stay nearby during what is an extremely difficult and stressful time.
Unfortunately, not all of these visits have a happy outcome, and we are introducing the Memory Tree to remember those we have lost.
The tree – kindly donated to the campaign by Gower Fresh Christmas Trees – will be on display in the stadium club shop throughout the festive period and Jacks can add a bauble engraved with the name of their loved one for a minimum donation of £3.
The baubles have been donated by Stephen Hughes- who sadly lost his granddaughter Eryn in March 2023 - meaning that more money from the purchases go directly to Cwtsh Clos.
For those purchasing at the club shop by completing the form, the full amount of the donation will go to Cwtsh Clos. Donations made online below are subject to a processing fee from hosts enthuse.
Money raised from our memory tree is for our Cwtsh Clos appeal.
There is a choice of four colours (pink, blue, silver or unpainted wooden effect). Please ensure you complete the form with the correct postal address, email and phone number so that we can return the baubles to you in the new year.
