Swansea City’s Cwtsh Clos matchday raises more than £8,000

Swansea City’s matchday dedicated to the Swansea Bay Health Charity’s Cwtsh Clos appeal has raised more than £8,000 thanks to the generosity of the Jack Army.
The money will be used towards the refurbishment of five two-bedroom houses adjacent to the Singleton Hospital site, which provide homes away from home for families whose babies are being cared for at the neonatal intensive care unit.
To show support for the charity, the men’s team warmed up in Cwtsh Clos appeal shirts and wore specially made home shirts with the Cwtsh Clos logo on the front.
The match shirts were then auctioned, with bidding open for 10 days, and the final amount raised was over £4,300.
Supporters also donated on the day via a matchday bucket collection, which raised a final total of over £1,700 that the club then matched.
A further £400 was donated via the online links posted on the club's official website and within the digital matchday programme.
Those generous donations brought the final amount raised across all matchday activities to £8,182.
As well as the fundraising, Cwtsh Clos were represented across the matchday with a guard of honour made up of former residents of the houses, nurses and their children.
In addition, Swans fans Scott, Pepsi, Lyla, Noah and Jacob held a Cwtsh Clos flag after sharing their emotional story with the club. You can watch them recount their experience here.
Thank you to every member of the Jack Army who supported the Cwtsh Clos appeal matchday.
