Swansea City Women sign Sophie Brisland-Hancocks
Swansea City Women have completed the signing of midfielder Sophie Brisland-Hancocks.
Brisland-Hancocks rejoins Swansea from Cardiff Met Women, having spent seven years with the Swans before joining Met in 2019.
The midfielder helped the Swans to the 2016-17 Genero Adran Premier title before her departure, and joins off the back of winning the Adran Trophy last season.
The 26-year-old becomes the Swans third addition of the summer, following the arrivals of Robyn Pinder and Chloe Bull.
She joins Swansea City on a semi-professional contract and will wear the number 16 shirt during the upcoming campaign.
“It’s a new challenge for me personally, I’m super excited to get started,” said Brisland-Hancocks.
“I’ve been here for a couple of weeks; training has been great and I’ve been really fortunate to play some friendlies as well.
“I can’t fault the welcome I’ve received from the players and the staff.
“I have really fond memories from when I was here previously and I was still close with most of the team, both from playing with them and against them, so that has certainly helped me feel at home, I guess.
“Whatever team I’m playing for my mentality is to win, that’s something I pride myself on, I’m super competitive and hopefully that will help the rest of the team.
“There were obviously nerves coming back, but since I’ve been here I think my decision has been the right one.”
