Swansea City Women | Development pathway round-up
In our first women's pathway round-up of the new season, Swansea City Under-19s continued their perfect start to the campaign, whilst the Under-17s suffered a first defeat.
First-team forward Chloe Chivers featured for the under-19s as she returns to fitness, playing 68 minutes as the development side backed up an opening 7-0 win over Talycopa with a 10-0 victory over Cardiff Met.
The Swans led by two goals at the break, an own goal just two minutes in putting the Swans in front, before Katie Rowles doubled the lead just before the break.
Two quick-fire second goals after the break soon extended the Swansea lead, Rowles netting again before Meg Clarke joined in on the scoring.
Rowles would complete her hat-trick just 10 minutes later, netting her seventh goal in two games, before Grace Tilley and Florence Tarrant hit braces and Izzy Watkins rounded off the scoring.
The under-17s had began their campaign with a 4-0 win over North Cardiff Cosmos, but were defeated in their second outing on the road to Caerau Ely.
A first-half brace from Caerau Ely’s forward saw the hosts go into the break with a two-goal lead.
The hosts would add a third with one minute of regulation time remaining, before the Swans pulled back a late consolation goal deep into added time.
