Swansea City will face Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup first round

Swansea City will host Northampton Town at the Swansea.com Stadium in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

The fixture will mark the second time the two sides have met in the Carabao Cup with the Swans also hosting the Cobblers in 2019.

The Swans left it late in that tie with an Andre Ayew brace either side of a George Byers goal seeing the home side come from behind to claim a 3-1 win.

The two teams have faced each other 48 times in league action since their first meeting in 1921. The Swans came out on top in 21 of those meetings with a further 10 ending in a draw.

The Cobblers' best Carabao Cup result is a quarter final exit which they achieved twice in 1964-65 and 1966-67, while the Swans lifted the trophy in 2013.
