Swansea City wait on Josh Ginnelly fitness ahead of Preston trip
Swansea City will wait on the fitness of Josh Ginnelly before this weekend’s Championship game at Preston North End, but have had midfielder Liam Walsh back out on the grass following injury.
Ginnelly, who got an hour under his belt for the under-21s in midweek, has been unwell but could yet be available for the trip to Deepdale.
Walsh, meanwhile, has recovered from a hamstring injury and joined his teammates in training, taking part in the open session at the Swansea.com Stadium.
“We have no new injuries,” said head coach Michael Duff.
“Josh Ginnelly has reported a bit of illness so we will have to see where he is at. We have also had Walshy back out on the grass, which is a positive.
“Gino is getting fitter and fitter, while Mykola (Kuharevich) and Nathan (Tjoe-A-On) had their first real minutes for the under-21s.
“Gino is closest in terms of fitness. With Myko and Nathan they are young players, they have been brought in to be developed.
“That does not mean they are not first-team ready, but we don’t envisage them starting every game this season. We are trying to get them fit as soon as we can.”
