Swansea City Under-21s secure last-minute win in Tiverton Town pre-season friendly
Swansea City Under-21s continued their pre-season campaign with an entertaining 4-3 win over Southern League Premier side Tiverton Town at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium.
The Swans opened the scoring with 60 seconds played through Iwan Morgan, who did well to fend off three defenders after the visitors broke from a Tiverton corner to find the net at the other end of the pitch
They held on to their lead for 45 minutes but, shortly after the break, the home side drew level with Matt Buchan tapping the ball into an open net.
However, the young Swans soon restored their lead as a a cross found Glory Nzingo in the box, and he coolly found the bottom corner.
Five minutes later, the Yellows had found their second equaliser, Niall Thompson being the one to get on the scoresheet.
The goals kept coming as the Swans, for the third time, regained their advantage. Mitchell Bates with a stunning 25-yard strike putting the visitors ahead once again.
Going in to the final 10 minutes of the fixture, the home side were awarded a penalty following a corner, and it was converted by Louis Morison.
But there was still time for a dramatic finish, as the Swans had nicked the win after Morgan completed his brace by heading the ball beyond the keeper.
Swansea City Under-21s are next in action this Saturday, as they continue their Nathaniel MG Cup run in the second round against Caerau Ely at Llandarcy (2.30pm).
