Swansea City Under-21s to face Sheffield United in last 16 of Premier League Cup

Swansea City Under-21s will face Sheffield United in the last 16 of the Premier League Cup on February 27 at Bramall Lane (7pm KO).

The Swans drew 1-1 in their final group-stage fixture against Premier League outfit Aston Villa earlier in February, which was enough to see them advance as Group A runners-up.

In their previous group fixtures, the development side had recorded wins over Hull City (home and away) and Brighton (home), but suffered late heartbreak in defeat at home to Aston Villa and in the reverse fixture against the Seagulls.

As a result of their progression, Swansea’s Professional Development League clash with Bristol City - due to take place on Monday, February 26 - will be arranged.

Details of a new date for that fixture will be communicated in due course.
