Swansea City Under-21s Alex Bray contract extension
3rd March
Swansea City winger Alex Bray has signed a one-year contract extension at the Liberty Stadium that will see him stay in SA1 until June 2017.
The 20-year-old, who originally hails from Bath, started his career with Swindon Town before making his switch to the Swans in 2010.
The young winger's career was interrupted when he suffered a knee ligament injury whilst on loan at Plymouth in September 2014.
Bray returned in January, after almost a year-and-a-half out, to feature for the development squad in their last four games.
"I am over-the-moon to sign a new contract," he said. "One of my targets during my rehabilitation was to earn myself a new deal, so it feels fantastic to achieve that."
"Since making my return against Arsenal in January I feel I have settled with the Under-21s' squad really well. It is great to be back out on the pitch.
"I am still working hard off the field in rehab to try and prevent a re-occurrence of the same injury, I feel at my physical peak but I am still trying to get where I was technically over a year ago.
"Another year means I can continue to rebuild and improve my chances to get back where I was.
"From here I want to score goals for the Under-21s, get some experience out on loan and keep knocking on the door for a chance with the first team.
"For me the hard work continues but I can't wait to get started."
