The 17-year-old netted both goals as the young Swans beat Wolves at Landore on Friday night to set up a fourth round tie at Newcastle.
And Cullen, who netted his 15th goal of the season in all competitions, believes the win will give the academy youngsters confidence heading into the New Year.
"It was great to get the win tonight," he said. "Despite Wolves getting a goal back, we defended strongly to see the game out and seal the win, which was important for us.
"Tonight's win means we end the year on a high and can go into 2017 with confidence. We have some big games coming up in both league and cup and we want to get more wins.
"It is always nice to score goals - my second was thanks to a great ball from Oliver (Cooper). I was able to run onto it and hit it early to ensure I beat the keeper.
"We next face Newcastle at St James' Park which will be a huge occasion for us as a team. It will be great to have the experience to go away and play a game like that.
"Games at big stadiums like that is like first-team football for us. We are already buzzing for it and there is a lot to look forward to next year."
