The Disabled Supporters' Association were treated to special guest appearances from head coach Russell Martin and several Swansea City players at their annual Christmas party, hosted by Mal Pope.

The Swans stars met and mingled with the DSA members and joined in with the singing of Christmas carols ahead of their annual festive gathering - followed by an evening of fun with music, raffles and food.

There was also an appearance from Santa Claus to get those in attendance in the festive spirit.

Launched in 2013, the DSA is continually growing and currently has over 100 members. The DSA works to improve facilities and policies that affect disabled supporters.

The DSA Christmas Party is an important time for members to get together to socialise, with recent years having been particularly challenging due to the impact of the pandemic.

Cath Dyer, secretary and Supporters' Trust representative for the DSA, said: "Everyone is just so happy and grateful, it just means a lot.

"The club have been great, they've given us the room and they paid for the buffet. We've had Russell Martin here, and the players.

"To give everyone the chance to meet the players and the head coach, you can see what it means to people with how many have talked to the team and had pictures with them.

"It's just one of those nights, everyone feels included and involved. What more could you ask for?"

And Martin thoroughly enjoyed his evening, and commended the DSA for the work they do.

"We see a lot of Cath [Dyer] who helps run the DSA, we see a lot of her up at the training ground and she's always informing us of the brilliant work they're doing and how important it is to so many people," he said.

"It's really nice to be a part of events like this. To see the players having a good time is great, we have a really good group of players that are willing to engage in so much stuff."

All Swansea City disabled supporters are welcome to join the DSA, and this includes their family, friends and PAs.
