Swansea City to make late call on Joel Latibeaudiere ahead of Blackpool clash
Swansea City will make a late decision on the fitness of Joel Latibeaudiere ahead of Wednesday’s Championship clash with Blackpool.
The defender has been back out on the grass with his team-mates following a calf strain that kept him out of the defeat at Sheffield United.
But a final decision on his availability against the Seasiders will be left until after Tuesday’s final training session ahead of the fixture.
Liam Walsh is in contention again after getting 45 minutes under his belt for the under-21s on Monday evening, with Cameron Congreve playing a full 90 in the 2-2 draw against Cardiff.
“We hope Joel will be fit, he will be with team on the grass today so we will see how he comes through, but it is good he is back involved with the group,” said assistant head coach Matt Gill.
“Walshy has come back in brilliant shape, but he needs minutes under his belt. He was excellent last night in a really good game for the under-21s.
"He has come though that fine and it means he can be involved with us on Wednesday.
“Cameron Congreve got a full 90, which means he is in a better place than he has been.
“Joe Allen is improving all the time, after the little knock he had, and with so many games coming up in this period he is going to play plenty.
“The squad is not massive, we have a busy period and there is a chance for all the lads to get a start and add some value to the team.”
