Swansea City loan watch | September 2021
With the summer transfer window now behind us, we take a look at how Swansea’s loanees have fared with their new clubs so far.
Transfer deadline day saw two Swans depart on season-long loans.
Summer signing Kyle Joseph, who joined League One side Cheltenham Town, and Ollie Cooper, who joined Newport County, have both seen plenty of action just a week into their moves.
Joseph started in the Robins' first match since his arrival, and capped the occasion by bagging his first goal in a 1-1 draw against MK Dons.
Cooper has already made two starts for the Exiles, the first coming on the day his move was announced.
He helped Newport to a 2-0 over Plymouth Argyle in the EFL Trophy on that occasion, and his second appearance came just five days later, as he helped Mike Flynn's side earn a point against Leyton Orient at home.
Josh Gould joined National League South side Ebbsfleet Town until January. Since his arrival, the goalkeeper has carved his place into the first team, making four starts and helping Ebbsfleet to seven points and one clean sheet.
After spending the latter part of last season on loan to Swindon Town, Jordon Garrick has earned another loan move, this time to Plymouth Argyle.
The attacker will feature for the Pilgrims until the end of the season, and has already made three appearances since his arrival in late August.
Two of those appearances came in the league, where Garrick was brought on as a late substitute.
The other was made in the Argyle’s 2-0 defeat to Newport County in the EFL Trophy, a clash that also featured Swans team-mate Cooper.
Cameron Evans has been on loan to Irish Premier Division side Waterford FC since February, and quickly cemented himself as a starter.
Since the beginning of the EFL football season, Evans has made five starts in five games, netting once for the Blues in the process.
The defender is set to make his Swansea return later this year.
