Swansea City Ladies sign Rhianne Oakley
Swansea City Ladies have signed forward Rhianne Oakley from Pontypridd Town Women, formerly known as Cyncoed Ladies.
Oakley has international experience to her name having represented Wales Under-19s on five occasions.
She was one of the bright sparks in the Welsh Premier Women’s League last season and has played for the likes of Cardiff City Ladies and Bristol City.
And now Oakley is eager to get her first minutes under her belt for the two-time defending WPWL champions and she is particularly excited by the prospect of Champions League football.
“I’m really excited to get going, the girls obviously had a great season last year winning the cup and the league,” she said.
“I’m especially looking forward to getting back out onto the pitch and playing in the Champions League in August.
“It is huge to be a part of a title-winning team and to go away to play in the Champions League; it is my first opportunity to play in the competition, so that will be a great experience for me.
“I have played against Swansea a couple of times and it was always a good game, so I’m glad to be a part of the team now.
“It will be great to play alongside the girls, so I am excited.”
