Swansea City Ladies continued their 2016-17 Welsh Premier Women's League campaign with a 2-2 draw against Cardiff Met Ladies at the Cyncoed Campus on Sunday.
The Swans started brightly with an early chance from Stacey John stopped by Cardiff Met's defence.
The visitors showed some excellent attacking play with an outstanding effort from the edge of the box from John going close to breaking the deadlock.
At the other end, Lowri Ridings bravely headed clear Cardiff's advances before skipper Alicia Powe's solid defending kept the score level.
Cardiff Met took the lead minutes into the second half with a sharp shot from the edge of the box from Erin Murray.
Swansea's Ria Hughes prevented Cardiff Met from doubling their lead soon after as the defender cleared their effort off the line.
Swansea were back on level terms in the 56th minute, though, when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on John. Jodie Passmore converted the spot-kick.
But Cardiff Met led once again 20 minutes later through Jassie Vasconcelos' powerful shot.
However, Swansea did not give up and levelled five minutes later as Sophie Hancocks latched onto the end of an outstanding Emma Beynon cross to head home in the 82nd minute.
The Swans looked to seal the win in the final minutes of the match but Passmore's cross skimmed the crossbar before efforts from Beynon and Katy Hosford missed the target.
After the match, scorer Hancocks said: "Overall I think it went really well. We all wanted the three points, but to come here to the champions' home ground and take points off them is a positive.
"I thought we played really well and we were a much better team."
