Swansea City join Nathaniel MG to host event celebrating community
Swansea City partner Nathaniel MG celebrated the opening of their new Swansea-based showroom by hosting an event for Swansea City supporters focusing on community.
The successful evening saw season ticket holders and Jack Army members selected at random to attend the panel discussion with chairman Andy Coleman, head coach Luke Williams and Nathaniel Cars managing director Wayne Griffiths.
The topic of the evening was the importance of building and maintaining and engaged community and the panel was hosted by football reporter and presenter Sioned Dafydd, with supporters also able to submit questions in advance.
A drinks reception followed by discussion on the perspectives of business, football and community gave fans the chance to learn more about how Swansea City and Nathaniel MG can support its city.
“I thought this evening was fantastic,” said chairman Coleman.
“We have community and commercial partners who we enjoy working with and it was great to have so many supporters attend and to have Luke with us as well.
“I just thought the event was great.”
Community has always been at the heart of Swansea City, and head coach Williams said he hopes to be able to attend more events which will help bring the club, supporters and fans closer together.
“I think the event was brilliant. We got to meet people in the community,” he added.
“The more events like this the better.”
Speaking after the event Griffiths said: “Now it’s about what we’re going to do next.
“I’d like to see the relationship grow. We have assets that we can help supporters access, and I think it’s great to see other people benefit from what you can do.
“Supporters here got to meet Luke and they loved it, because on a matchday, they can’t do that.
“I think this kind of event helps us engage with fans in a simple way and understand if there’s anything we can do specifically to help them achieve more.”
