Swansea City host skill school featuring Lee Trundle and Jamie Shawyer in North Carolina
During Swansea City's time in North Carolina for The Soccer Tournament (TST), club ambassador Lee Trundle and YouTube star Jamie Shawyer hosted an exclusive skill school for players from local club, Carolina Velocity FC.
The event was held at renowned local theatre The Rialto in Raleigh, and was compered by theatre owner Hayes Permar.
With over 400 people in attendance, the children and their family members enjoyed a showing of Lee Trundle’s ‘Magic Daps' documentary, produced by the Football Association of Wales, followed by one of Shawyer's most viewed YouTube clips featuring Chelsea's Academy starlets.
And before taking to the floor to show off their skills, Shawyer and Trundle took questions from fans in a Q+A session.
"It was an absolute pleasure for Carolina Velocity to establish a partnership with Swansea City during their recent trip to Raleigh, North Carolina," said Andy Thompson, executive director of Carolina Velocity.
"We had the honour of hosting a VIP event alongside the Swans featuring Lee Trundle and social media influencer Jamie Shawyer, exclusively for our parents and families.
"Over 400 people attended this memorable evening at The Rialto. It was a fantastic and unique event that left our players and their families smiling, engaged, and with a newfound affection for Swansea.
"You can be sure that you now have a loyal following of fans from our Carolina Velocity community."
Head of Commercial at Swansea City AFC Richard Morris added: "This was truly a special evening, where the level interest and engagement from all at Carolina Velocity FC, towards Swansea City, shone through.
"With access to club legend, Lee Trundle, and YouTube star, Jamie Shawyer, we created an exciting, fun event for those in attendance, some of whom we hope are Swans fans of the future!"
