Swansea City to host Iftar Event at the Swansea.com Stadium
Swansea City and Show Racism the Red Card have joined with local mosques, Ethnic Youth Support Team (EYST), and Unite for Union to host an Iftar event at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The event will begin at 7pm on April 3 and will symbolise the breaking of the fast for Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
Food will be served and celebrations will take place in the stadium’s hospitality lounges before prayers take place at pitchside within the stadium bowl.
The second annual Iftar event seeks to foster understanding and build bridges, contributing to the city's cultural diversity and stands as a testament to the spirit of community, unity, and mutual respect that thrives within Swansea.
"We are profoundly grateful to Swansea City and all the collaborating partners for hosting the Iftar event for the second consecutive year," said community spokesperson Dr Mahaboob Basha.
“This event is not just about breaking fast; it's a celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and the strong bonds that unite us as a community.
"By opening its doors for Iftar, Swansea.com Stadium has become more than a venue for sports; it has transformed into a beacon of community, spirit and togetherness. We are deeply touched by this gesture and look forward to continuing this beautiful tradition in the years to come.”
The event is free to attend, but attendees must claim a ticket using the link below.
