Swansea City Fulham Under-21s Joe Rodon
17th April
Defender Joe Rodon has called on Swansea City Under-21s to end the season in Premier League Division Two on a high with a win at home to Fulham on Monday (2pm).
Goals from Adam King, Kenji Gorre and Alex Bray helped the development squad to a 3-1 win over Arsenal on Thursday, with the victory also securing the team a league play-off place.
The young Swans now face Fulham in their final home game of the season knowing victory could lift them to third in the league table.
And 18-year-old Rodon, who has been a key part of the U21s team during their first season in category one football, has called on the side to extend their unbeaten run to seven games.
"The whole squad is on a high after our series of wins," he said. "We just want to maintain our unbeaten run against Fulham on Monday before we head into the play-offs.
"Beating Arsenal felt like a cup final but we can't get carried away with ourselves. The win and performance on Thursday was great but we need to continue that form.
"We don't want to lose this streak, we have worked very hard to go six games unbeaten and we want to carry that on into the play-offs and hopefully beyond.
"As a team we have talked about what we wanted to accomplish this season and the play-offs are the top priority.
"It feels great to have achieved it, we have put ourselves in a great position but it is only half the job done, we know we must carry on our momentum and deliver come Monday."
