Swansea City could face Chesterfield or West Bromwich Albion in FA Cup fourth round
Swansea City will face Chesterfield or West Bromwich Albion at home in the fourth round of the FA Cup, should they come through their third-round replay against Bristol City.
The Swans and the Robins will require another meeting to decide who advances after playing out a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate on Sunday afternoon.
National League Chesterfield had a giant-killing victory over West Brom snatched away in the 90th minute when Brandon Thomas-Asante scored to make it 3-3 in the original tie. They will now face a replay against the Championship outfit at The Hawthorns.
The Swans haven’t faced The Spireites since a League One meeting in 2007. The Swans won both matchups that term. The two sides have never met in any cup before but have contested a league match 40 times with the Swans coming out on top 15 times.
The Baggies are a much more familiar opponent for the Swans having played in the same league 12 times in the last 14 seasons.
They have met in the FA Cup once on January 10, 1987. The Swans came out on top that day with a 3-2 home win.
