Swansea City has signed eight players to academy scholarships ahead of the new season.

Billy Clarke, Brogan Popham, Caio Ifans, Ben Phillips, Isaac Dudding, Milo Robinson, Harlan Perry and Callum Jones have all become scholars having progressed through the youth development phase.

Academy staff and coaches hosted a scholars' evening at Fairwood Training Ground, where parents and friends of the players gathered for a formal induction.

The players were shown around the men's first-team facilities before speeches were made by academy manager Gavin Levey and wider academy staff.

They will make the full-time step up to the under-18s' squad from the under-16 ranks, with almost all of them having previously featured for the upper-age group.

Ifans and Perry also featured for the under-21s last term against Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday, at the Swansea.com Stadium and Hillsborough respectively.

"Congratulations to all eight young players who have recently earned and began their scholarships," said academy manager Gavin Levey.

"The welcome evening enabled the families to meet our staff and gain a wider insight into how the next two years as a scholar will look.

"Bringing families closer to the academy has been one of our key objectives and the welcome evening has hopefully inspired the boys to give their absolute all in the first stage of their professional development here at Swansea City."
