Swansea City complete signing of Josh Tymon
Swansea City has completed the signing of Josh Tymon from Stoke City for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract, with the option for an additional 12 months, and will wear the number 14 shirt for the Swans.
The Hull-born defender bolsters head coach Michael Duff’s defensive ranks, and provides a left-footed option for the Swans boss.
Tymon came through the academy ranks with Hull City, having joined them in 2011, and went on to make his senior debut for the Tigers in an FA Cup tie against Bury in January 2016.
His Premier League bow followed later that year against Sunderland, while he also enjoyed a career milestone against the Swans as he scored his first senior goal to help Hull to a 2-0 FA Cup win in January 2017.
Tymon left Hull at the conclusion of that season and made the move to the Potteries with Stoke.
He had loan spells with MK Dons and Portuguese club Famalicao as he sought more senior experience, before making his breakthrough at Stoke during the 2020-21 season.
Tymon has been a regular in the first team since, and has made 122 appearances in total for the Potters, scoring four goals and registering nine assists.
A former England youth international, Tymon featured for the Three Lions at the prestigious Toulon tournament in 2017.
