Swansea City has completed the signing of defender Joel Latibeaudiere from Manchester City, subject to international clearance.

The 20-year-old becomes Swansea’s eighth signing of a busy transfer window, and - provided international clearance is received in time - could make his debut in Saturday’s home meeting with Huddersfield Town at the Liberty Stadium.

Latibeaudiere will wear the number 22 shirt and has put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Like new Swans team-mates Marc Guehi and Morgan Gibbs-White, Latibeaudiere was part of the England Under-17s’ side that secured World Cup glory in 2017 under Steve Cooper, skippering them in the final victory over Spain.

Latibeaudiere, who hails from Doncaster, has been with Manchester City since joining their academy at the age of 13.

He skippered their under-18s to the Premier League North title, and helped the Citizens reach the FA Youth Cup final.

He spent the 2019-20 season on loan with FC Twente, making five Eredivisie appearances and scoring one goal.
