Swansea City AFC Foundation sign Armed Forces Covenant
Swansea City AFC Foundation has signed the Armed Forces Covenant at the Forces for Change event, which took place on Monday at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise that those who serve, or who have served, in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly and given equal employment opportunities.
The Foundation joined four other local businesses in signing the Armed Forces Covenant at the event.
There were several speakers and stalls showcasing the work they do to support veterans including the In the Squad initiative which provides walking football sessions for veterans from the armed forces.
Helen Elton, head of community at Swansea City AFC Foundation, was proud to sign the Covenant on behalf of the Foundation as a way to continue the organisation’s commitment to veterans and their families.
“We are delighted to have signed the armed forces covenant today,” said Elton.
“We are already working with veterans through our In the Squad project in partnership with Ospreys in the Community.
“Signing the covenant formalises our commitment to veterans and their families.
