Swansea City Academy stars support Swans Foundation Soccer Camps
Swansea City Under-18 players supported Swansea City AFC Foundation’s Soccer Camp at Llandarcy Academy of Sport by helping coaches at the session.
Eight of the young scholars joined the October Soccer Camp in Llandarcy, helping to deliver drills and take part in games with the young participants.
The young Swans are currently completing their FAW 'C' Licence coaching badges as part of their education with the club, and academy head of education Jordan Morris felt the day represented a great chance for the players to put their learning into practice.
“The aim was for the scholars to support the Foundation, help develop the players who are coming to camps and be exposed to this environment,” said Morris.
“They are doing their 'C' Licence alongside their educational qualifications, so we wanted to put that into practice through working and supporting the coaches.
“They get to see how hard the coaches work and to see how different needs occur and what they need to do to support each one.”
Goalkeeper Isaac Dudding was one of the scholars to help in leading the session, and he was glad to be able to support the young participants in an environment in which he himself had played football growing up.
“It’s good to be a part of it, as a kid I came to sessions here myself, so it’s good to come back and see young people enjoying football,” said Dudding.
“It’s been a good day, it’s something different and nice to be in a relaxed environment.
“It’s good to see that they are all having fun and we’ve had fun here ourselves so that’s been great.”
