Swans tour squad revealed
Swansea City are taking 27 players on their pre-season trip to Germany and Austria as they step up preparations for the new Championship campaign.
Graham Potter’s men fly out today for an eight-day stay on the Continent.
They play two 60-minute games, against FC Magdeburg and Genoa, in Germany tomorrow before travelling on to Austria, where they face friendlies against La Liga side Eibar and SC Freiburg, of the Bundesliga.
Potter’s tour party includes three goalkeepers, with Erwin Mulder and youngster Steven Benda joined by Kristoffer Nordfeldt, who returns to the fold having been given time off after the World Cup.
There are eight defenders on the trip, but Martin Olsson is not expected to rejoin his club-mates until the Swans return to Fairwood.
There are 13 midfielders and wide players, including summer recruits Joel Asoro and Yan Dhanda, plus three forwards – Oli McBurnie and the Ayew brothers.
Fellow frontman Wilfried Bony is among the players who do not make the trip because of injury.
Centre-back Alfie Mawson and midfielder Sam Clucas also miss out as they are not yet fit following knee operations at the end of last season, while George Byers will remain in Wales because of a muscle problem.
Leroy Fer, who has been sidelined since February with a ruptured Achilles, does travel, but he is not in contention for game-time as his rehabilitation work continues.
