Swans Swansea City Angel Rangel
12th March
The Swans have been delivered a blow with the news that defender Angel Rangel has broken a bone in his right foot that could keep him out for the rest of the season.
The Spaniard had a scan today after limping off early in the 2-1 defeat at Hull on Saturday.
The scan revealed Rangel had broken a metatarsal, one of five long bones in his foot, and is expected to be out for around eight to 12 weeks.
The long-serving right-back is due to have an operation early this week.
"I'm absolutely gutted,'' said Rangel. "It's a big set-back, but I'll come back stronger.''
With Rangel out, it is hoped fellow full-back Kyle Naughton will return to training this week after missing the game at Hull with a slight hamstring problem and in time for Saturday's fixture at AFC Bournemouth.
