Swans stars back anti-racism campaign

Swans stars Wayne Routledge and Roland Lamah today showed their support for the Show Racism The Red Card campaign.
The duo, along with club ambassador Lee Trundle, attended a special workshop at the Liberty Stadium involving pupils from Bryn y Mor and Blaenymaes primary schools.
Children watched a DVD featuring the likes of Samuel Eto'o and Thierry Henry, who gave their experience of racism in football.
Then it was time for Routledge, Lamah and Trundle to answer questions from pupils, who were given the roles of newspaper journalists in a press-conference style session.
There were some challenging questions in the press conference, with the best questions winning a signed Swansea City shirt and a SRtRC goodie bag.
All pupils will now write their own newspaper article from the lessons learned by listening to the Swans duo.
It proved a hugely successful session, with Routledge outlining the importance in educating children on the issue.
"Education like this for children on racism is vital," said the Swans winger. "I was asked by one pupil how do we stop racism - that's a very difficult question because if we had the answer then it wouldn't be an issue.
"But workshops run by Show Racism The Red Card give children a great start in understanding what racism is and how it affects people.
"I think the pupils gained a lot from the workshop and myself, Roland and Lee were all too happy to speak to them on the issue."
Campaign worker Jason Webber said: "It's important to have the support of the clubs and the professional players who are role models to young people.
"Today has offered them an opportunity to share their experiences and advice with the pupils. The young people have really enjoyed the event and will take home some key messages.
"SRtRC would like to thank Swansea City for hosting the event, the schools for attending the day and Lee, Wayne and Roland for their support in the role play press conference."
The event was sponsored by the Big Lottery, the Football Association of Wales and the Welsh Government.
