Swans share Christmas spirit with kids
The Swans have added some Christmas sparkle to a group of happy youngsters ahead of the festive period.
Swans stars Leroy Fer, Mike van der Hoorn, Wayne Routledge, Oli McBurnie, Daniel James, Joe Rodon, Nathan Dyer, Matt Grimes, Tom Carroll, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Courtney Baker-Richardson took a trip to Smyths toy shop in Swansea to meet specially selected children from the local community to give them an early Christmas present.
The players not only took time out to have pictures, sign autographs and chat about all things Swans and Christmas, they also sent all excited children around the store to select presents of their choice.
The squad then met them all back at the till to pay for every single present the children selected themselves.
The fun didn’t end there, though, with the squad paying for the children to enjoy all the rides at Swansea’s Winter Wonderland.
"All the kids seemed to have enjoyed. You could see by their faces how much it meant - and that's all that matters.''
"It's an event we have done for a few years now, and the players were more than happy to contribute to the cause,” said winger Wayne Routledge.
"If we can help to put a smile on the children’s faces over the festive period means a lot to them and to us.
"Seeing the children's reaction going around the store loading their trollies with toys for Christmas is heart-warming for everyone.
"We've always been a community club, and events like this help reinforce that message."
