Swans legends help junior football clubs
Junior football clubs in the area have been receiving expert help from Swansea City club ambassadors Lee Trundle and Leon Britton.
Trundle and Britton have been heading into the heart of the footballing community to help run training sessions for local junior clubs and forge closer links to the Swans.
The two Swans legends take part in club training sessions, assisting football-mad kids with their skills and answering any questions they have.
Trundle and Britton have already visited a host of junior clubs in the area such as Sandfields, Cwmamman, Mumbles Rangers, Maltsters Sports, Bryncoch and Ynystawe to inspire the younger generation and encourage them to enjoy football and participation in sport.
“It’s so rewarding for me and Leon to mix with the young kids in the area through our love and passion for football,” said Trundle.
“We were once kids with a dream of playing football as a professional career, so we feel it’s really important for us to give something back to the younger generation. This is a great way of doing that.”
Britton added: “If we can encourage them to continue their participation in sport, and have fun while doing so, that is an incentive enough for us.”
Britton received some great feedback from his trip to Cwmamman, with a club spokesperson saying: “On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to convey our gratitude to Leon for attending our Juniors training session.
“He is a fantastic ambassador for the Swans and made it a memorable occasion for everyone, with more than 100 boys and girls present.”
